Charlotte was acting a little out of sorts during our hike last week and had a fever for 8 hours on the Monday afternoon, so we headed to the ER at the children's hospital bright and early on the morning of Aug 10th (they recommend that babies under 3 months of age with a fever of unknown origin be checked out by a doctor). After a multitude of blood, urine and spinal fluid tests, she was diagnosed with a kidney infection. She was admitted and ended up staying until the afternoon of the 12th. She was a trouper and is now doing great. We have to go back next week for a few more tests to see if there's an underlying reason for her infection.
John explained to Meredith that baby Charlotte was sick and she was seeing the doctors in the hospital (Merrie kept telling me and John that "baby Charlotte see doctor!") John brought her to the hospital for a visit Wednesday night and she kept asking to see a doctor. She also loved being in Charlotte's bed/crib and thought it was great fun!

Sick baby Charlotte. The rag on her foot is protecting her IV.

Meredith loved being in "jail."

That would be a bit scary, taking your baby to the hospital & getting all those tests!! Glad to hear she is on the mend :)
Aw, poor Charlotte! I'm glad she's feeling better! Definetely would've been scary :(
Look at Charlotte's baby rolls. I just love them! Hope all her testing goes well. Eli's hospital crib had a top on it too since he's such a climber. It really was a jail...but than again so is his crib at home with the tent on top!
I am catching up on your blog, what with holidays and now school underway. I am so glad little Charlotte is o.k. It is a worry when babies are sick. Hope all of you are well. Love, Wendy
